Travel Insurance Buying Tips
Take the time to make a list of everything you might do on your trip.
Make a note of all of the physical activities that you will do on the
vacation. If you plan on rafting, hiking or diving put that on
your list. Next make a list of all of the items that you will be
taking with you. you need to list of items of any financial value
for example: cameras, binoculars, laptop, golf clubs. The next
item is to note where you will be traveling. If you are going to
multiple countries then the travel insurance agency needs to know this
to make sure you are fully covered.
Please
remember the following:
- Be honest with the
travel insurance agency because when you need the coverage you want
to make sure your policy is valid.
- Be suspicious of
marketing claims such as "Insure 1 person and get another insured
for free". Remember that you do get what you pay for and the
fact that an accident can result in such large medical bills, you
don't want to take chances.
- The unlimited medical
insurance coverage is a great claim but don't overpay. A 1-2
million dollar policy is more then enough to cover 99.9% of the
claims that have ever been filed.
- Shop around because
pricing will vary. Try to get a least 3 quotes to make sure
you are getting the best deal.
- Read the small print
so that you do not do anything that would cause your travel
insurance policy to be invalid.
