Travel Insurance Terms Explained

Travel Delay

If you're at the airport and and your plane gets delayed then you have cost that are covered such as food, coffee, tea.  Most travel policies will not cover an overnight hotel stay because they consider this a cost that the airline should cover.  Usually the coverage is around $40.00 per 12 hours period of delay with a maximum amount of about $200.00.  This is not a big item for the policy but these are real cost that can be incurred because of trip delays.
